Richie HartRichie Hart, Guitarist, has been performing and teaching jazz for over 35 years. He has a bachelor’s degree from Berklee College of Music and a Master’s Degree from Lehman College. He is presently an Associate Professor of Jazz Guitar at Berklee College of Music where he teaches a course in the music of Wes Montgomery, George Benson and various mainstream jazz guitarists. He was formerly the head of the Western Connecticut State University Jazz Department were he formulated and taught courses in jazz history, theory, arranging, composition and jazz ensemble.

A protégé of George Benson, Richie has performed and/or recorded with some of the biggest names in jazz including Ron Carter, Jimmy Cobb, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Jack McDuff, Don Patterson, Harold Ousley, Houston Person and Etta Jones, Hubert Laws, Freddie Hubbard, Danny Stiles, Phil Wilson, and Herb Pomeroy, Roy Hargrove, Lany Willis, Guillermo Franco and Roberta Gambarini, to name a few.

The Richie Hart Trio has performed in jazz clubs including the Regatta Bar, Boston, The Blue Note, NYC, the 63rd Street Steak House, NYC as well as at festivals including the Berkshire Jazz Festival, Massachusetts, the Tarrytown Arts Festival, Sunnyside Jazz Festival and the Yonkers River Festival. They have also performed master classes at schools and colleges including Bucknell College, Masuk High School, Connecticut, Berklee College of Music and various other New England schools.

Richie is a clinician for Guild Guitars and strings and in addition to his position at Berklee, he is currently recording and performing with his trio.
